How the BrushMints® Product Concept is Different from other Products on the Market.

~ Not Another Mini-Toothbrush ~

Consumers want a clean looking smile on-the-go, but they don't want to brush their teeth in public!

Unlike a “Mini-Toothbrush," a product developed with my designs would eliminate the problem many people have with the idea of using a ‘toothbrush’ in public.

BrushMints® products would not resemble a typical toothbrush; but would be perceived simply as clever packaging for delivery of a 'functional breath mint' (i.e. a food item). —One that could be conveniently used and enjoyed quickly and discretely while on-the-go.

The device is designed simply to provide a quick ‘brush-off’ of just the visible portion of the teeth (smile) for aesthetic purposes and breath freshening. Stain removal and prevention is an added benefit.

The difference from other products (such as paper teeth wipes and the Colgate Wisp) is in the way the user would hold and use the item. Using a BrushMint would more closely resemble a quick application of chap-stick, or discrete use of a toothpick (as depicted below).

Because the bristles on my product designs extend in a direction parallel with the handle, (as opposed to horizontal like a toothbrush) the user would be holding the product in an entirely different manner; and it would not look or feel like they are using a typical oral care item.

Consumers will feel much more comfortable using this type of product in public because, (with the right introduction and marketing) they will relate to it more as a "functional breath mint," rather than an oral care item.

Additionally, once consumers become familiar with the product, they will more often become conscious of the appearance of their teeth after a meal (or exposure to substances that stain); and they will immediately think of BrushMints® as a quick solution.

~ Value and Consumer Appeal ~

With various possible embodiments, unique branding, flavor varieties and marketing and distributing possibilities (outlined on the marketing & distributing possibilities page); this new product concept has great potential for multiple innovative new products providing value and consumer appeal.
